Putting town bands on the right track
04th February 2005 - The Maidenhead Advertiser
A COMPILATION CD featuring some of Maidenhead’s hottest bands and musicians has just been released.
Where It’s At Maidenhead was the brainchild of Line Out Records and Where it’s at is Where You Are (Wiaiwya), a group to showcase the town’s talent.
Nineteen acts, ranging from indie rock and metal to drum‘n’bass, have contributed, including bands Jensen and Kid Galahad. Others include The Alfredo Contract, Dissonance, Resound and Fat Habit.
John Jervis, of Wiaiwya, said: “We wanted to promote the local bands. There are a lot of them and they are all doing really great stuff.”
He added everyone had praised the final product. “It is local, it is diverse and it is an incredibly high quality recording of great tracks,” he said.
The CD will be sold in the Hobgoblin in the High Street on Thursday nights. It is also available from Dark Edge, a stall in the market open Thursday, Friday, Saturday in King Street, and online from www.onlineout.com
