A RECORD company for alternative and electronic music set up by a Maidenhead music fan aims to release two more albums this year.
Line Out Records was started by Bob Barker in August last year and has already signed four acts and released an album, Sinthetic 2 live, featuring eight tracks by various artists. Mr Barker, 26, of Aldebury Road, is a web designer and administrator by day and DJ by night. He said: “I wanted to start a small record company for alternative electronic artists which is going well.
“We released our first album a few months back and have had some fantastic review s. All the music is basically electronic but covering many different styles between them, including ambient, trance, dark wave, industrial and prog-electro.”
Artists on the label include Ocular Sinister, Interstellar Rhythm Machine, Drip Fed, Knoyce, The Kurtz Experiment and Reincarnationfish. Internet music magazine Hard-Wired described the album as ‘mellow, laid back and innovative’.
Mr Barker DJs at the Newt and Cucumber, in Bridge Street, at the alternative Revolve night every Wednesday.
