The EP consists of 3 songs (as the name would suggest):

1. Gomera (SonVer with Elephant Leaf)
2. Love Is Where You Make It, Love Is Where You Are (Elephant Leaf with SonVer)
3. Safety In Numbness (SonVer with Elephant Leaf)

The EP is darker than previous SonVer releases but also very moving.

"Gomera is the island in Japanese mythology/cartoonworld from where all the creatures like Godzilla come from. In the track itself, the opening sounds are a field recording which Jo (SonVer) made on the beach in LA GOMERA, in the Canary Islands on our honeymoon in 2005. We were throwing stones around, drunkenly."

"The photo on the front cover is of a little fort Ben (SonVer) made out of stones on the same beach."

The EP will be released on the 31 May at The Union Chapel in London, where SonVer will be playing, they will be joined on stage for the first time by Lucie Dehli (Elephant Leaf). Free entry, the band will be on stage at 12 noon.

This Is Radio Silence is the solo project of Ben McLees formerly of Earth Loop Recall and guitarist in post-rock/ambient band SonVer. Very much fitting in with the Line Out outlook Ben says:

"Essentially, TIRS is just the sound of me making music and enjoying doing so. It will not follow any obvious pattern or trend. It will not try to live up to other people's expectations. It is far more likely to confuse than it is to impress. It is for the most part a freeform studio experiment which will straddle numerous genres, colours and moods."

From what I've heard so far it will blow your balls off. We will be releasing the first This Is Radio Silence album as soon as we've prized it from Ben's fingers.

We've added a new band to the Line Out roster, that band is Bleak:

Bleak play the sort of alt.blues that can melt through bank vaults. Heavy, brutal, primal, direct, and yet sublimely beautiful, it drags you by your throat from the plantations of the 1860s Deep South via the jails and chain gangs of the Great Depression and throws you face down among burning remains and charred corpses of the Rhythm Night Club, Natchez Mississippi. They tried to sell their souls to the devil at the crossroads, but he couldn’t afford them, so they are going to give you a piece for free instead.

Bleak have just completed a series of live dates
across the Deep South, culminating with a triumphant show at Don Hill's Club in New York.

They are working on their first album now.

Go give them a listen: http://www.myspace.com/bleakandblue
